Quest board
What is the quest board?
Where the quests go! Duh! Jk jk, it's where vendors at Gob Mart can put out for stuff they want and need! gobs, like YOU, can stop by the Info Booth and grab a quest you think is worth your wile, fulfill it, and return the quest item to the vendor to claim a prize in exchange! Think of it as a "guaranteed trade" with an artist! They want boba, you're willing to stand in line for them, and upon delivery, they double your money (whatever you spend on the boba) in art! Maybe someone wants a collectable that you happen to have, so you drop by and know that they'll definitely want to trade for what you have!
Where is the quest board?
The Info Booth! When there's multiple Info Booths, it's at the most central location, by the North entrance of the mall!
How do I know what vendors have quests?
Green signs! At each vendors table will be a green sign reading "TRADE, BARGAIN, BUNDLE, QUEST" If they have "Quest Giver" checked off, it's 'cuz they have a quest out on the board! Each wanted poster on the quest board also reads the quest givers booth number and name so you know who you're dealing with!
Can I do more than one at once?
Totally! But remember, if you take the ticket with you, no one else can do that quest! So consider taking photos or only taking the number of quests you KNOW you'll be able to do! You don't wanna have an artist going hungry after someone took their quest for lunch and never fulfilled it hehehe!
Should I take it with me?
Depends! Does it say "infinite redemptions" at the bottom? Then no! Just take a photo so other folks know they can do that quest too! Does it say "one" redemption at the bottom? Then YES! take it with you so that vendors don't end up with 5 lunches and 3 drinks when they only asked for one!!!
What if I don't finish it?
No worries! We encourage to return it to the quest board so others can complete it! But no shame is fugorting or returning it to the board, or swapping it out with another one!
Ribbon collecting
What are badge ribbons?
Most fan conventions have badges for folks to wear as tickets! Artists would bring ribbons that stick to the badges for fun, often with little art and funny jokes on them! And what's more GOBLIN then collecting random things!?! So we brought them to Gob Mart! Now you can get ribbons from participating in things at Gob Mart, from our artists, and collect them on the little Goblin Badge we have at the Merch Booth! Since we don't have a ticket or pass like most conventions, we made a special keychain for folks to collect their ribbons on!
How do I collect badge ribbons?
if ye wish to find ribbons at gob mart, ye need only look around at the art!
mayhaps a trial ye will complete, and retrieve a ribbon for ye time, yippee!
hark! an artist is giving them there, make a purchase or trade and gain a ribbon spare!
competition, quests, rallies, and more! there's many ways to gain ribbons, ribbons galore!
What's the badge Ribbon Leaderboard?
If you have a COLLECTION of ribbons, you can get on the Gob Ribbon Leaderboard! Stop by the Info Booth by the North entrance to get your photo taken with your collection and pinned to the board! Minimum 15 ribbons needed to enter! Stop by each market to update your numbers or join the leaderboard, there's only 10 spots! Good luck!
Activity rooms
Craft Room
Whats there to do here?
(Updated 4/22) In April we have zine making, kandi making, happy mail, and balloon animal making! Check the event page for a schedule of events and updated list of things to do!
What are Zines?
Zine are mini magazines (hintz the name "zines") They're often just little books made by hand and hold photos, art, or poetry! You can check out Orlando Zine Meetup to see some examples of easy to make zines! At gob, They'll have some simple books folded and can teach you to fold your own! Doodle, write, and share! Each is one of a kind (unless you make copies at home) and are great memory makers and art pieces to trade at Gob or keep forever!
What's Kandi?
You might know it as pony beads, friendship bracelets, or PLUR, but this concert & rave trend has always been one thing- super fun! Grab some string and use some beads to make bracelets with your friends, a necklace that says "little treat guy" or theme the colors to your favorite character! Advanced artists make cuffs, with rows of beads woven together! At Gob, we provide you the basics and let you make whatever you want to keep as a memory or trade with other Gobs! PLUR means "peace, love, unity, respect" and is used to trade kandi between folks!
What's happy mail?
This video by Magpie Oddities puts it well! It's just little mail that should make someone happy when opening it! And thanks to Goblin Market's very own mailgob, STAMP, we're able to collect your happy mail this market and deliver it to future Gobs at future markets! Send a postcard, fold a letter, write a cute note, draw a funny photo, include mini prints or stickers, tie it together with string, go happy to your hearts content! Then give it to Stamp! He'll be back next time with a boat load of letters that you can come and pick from as a nice memory of your time with Gob! Then, send out a new one! It's always fun to get mail!
Is it free?
Yes! Free for anyone to attend and chill, just like the market!
How long is it open for?
All day! 1-7pm, same time as the market!
Should I bring stuff for it?
Sure! Bring kandi beads to trade and share and use- bring scrap paper and stickers for zine making- bring markers and photos to add to your happy mail! you can use our supplies, bring your own, and even share and trade supplies too!
Can I eat here?
Please no! We mostly say this because this rooms holds the sensory space and we don't want to bring some strong smelling foods into an enclosed space! there's plenty of seating in the food court if you wanna munch!
Can I host a crafrt?
Sure! Email us at [email protected] your activity, name, your qualifications, and any material you'll need broken down into what you need from Gob and what you'll provide! We'll get back to you soon as we can and confirm 2 weeks or more from the market your event!
Workshop Room
What are workshops?
These are class style activities that Gob offers! They'll change every market and details can be found on the event page as to what's happening when! Unlike the craft or meetup room, these workshops are on schedules instead of happening all day.
Are they free?
Sometimes! Check the event page for the event you're attending to see if there's pricing (typically $15 or less and including all your materials) or free! Classes often have attendance limits either way!
When do they happen?
Check the event page for the event you're attending for details! Workshops are about an hour long and happen throughout the day at Gob Mart!
Do I sign up beforehand?
Sometimes! Check the event page for the event you're attending for details! Signs up are often by the classroom or at the Info Booth!
Can I host a workshop?
Sure! Email us at [email protected] your workshop theme, name, your qualifications, and any material you'll need broken down into what you need from Gob and what you'll provide! We'll get back to you soon as we can and confirm 2 weeks or more from the market your event!
Meetup Room
What's a meetup?
It's a scheduled time for folks with the same interest to, well, meet up! A cosplay meetup could be for folks cosplaying from the same fandom to meet and take photos together! A trinket meetup could be for folks to bring trinkets they wanna trade to swap! It's a great time to find a thing you want to trade for, bring a thing that fits in the meetup theme to trade, meet other folks with the same interest, and take photos with folks in cool costumes!
What happens in the meetup room?
Gobs can take photos with our photo wall in full costume! You can borrow our table space to set out stuff you wanna trade and see if folks wanna swap with you! Or you can come for a scheduled meetup and meet & swap with folks with similar interests!
Can I take photos in this room?
Yes! be sure strangers know if you're taking photos with them, but folks posing for meetup photos should know that anyone can take a photo of them!
How do you trade in the meetup room?
Grab a table and maybe a chair and get started! Set out some of your goodies, sometimes little baskets help for the little stuff! We encourage folks to bring a small sign to indicate what you have and what you want! Then wait and trade!
Is there a time limit to being in the meetup room?
Not formally, but yes! We want the chairs to go to those with needs for them first, so please don't monopolize them! The tables will be used by meetups as well as cosplayers, fursuiters, and folks just looking to swap. So keep in mind how long you've been there and how busy it is! If you've had your seat for a few hours and someone new is about o set up on the floor, maybe consider giving up your seat and letting someone else have a turn!
Can I host a Meetup?
Sure! Sign up to host a meetup here! If you want to host a meet up short notice, like week of the event or day of the event, just post about it on Insta and tag us, we're happy to share! Sign up to host one a week or more before the event and we can add you to the website, the printed schedule, and the map too!
Stamp rallies
What's a stamp rally?
A super cool quest usually seen at conventions! A few artists will be involved and give you a stamp rally card with all the participants on it! Think of it like a sandwich shop punch card but you're getting a stamp from each artists when you purchase something, rather then the one store every time you visit. AND instead of the prize being like a free sandwich, it'll be a prize pack of a bunch of art from the artists involved, usually coordinated with the theme of the rally, and can range from stickers and mini prints to keychains and pins!
For example, a Goblin themed stamp rally! There's 5 artists involved, you make a purchase from any artist and you get a card and their stamp! Now you have to visit and make a purchase from the other 4 artists and when you're done, find the pick up point artist (usually noted on the card) to pick up your goblin themed prize pack!
How do I do one?
Find an artist involved and ask! Sometimes there bonus prizes for the first finishers, sometimes theres multiple prizes from each artist! There might be 3 artists involved or 6! Sometimes there's a purchase minimum required to enter, sometimes it's any purchase at all! You can check artist's socials and at the Info Booth at Gob as well, but we never guarantee we'll have a full list!
Does it cost money?
Yes! there's no "entry fee" just some kind of purchase from the artist involved! They typically all agree on a price, meaning trading won't count, but that doesn't mean the artist can't trade in general, they just can't trade for your stamp! Entry fees can sometimes be any purchase at all or could be $5, $10, $15! The higher the minimum, the cooler the prize will be! (One time the Goblin King did a stamp rally with a $15 entry fee, but there was only 4 artists and the final prize was a 4 layer acrylic stand diorama! Totally worth it)
Can I do more then one?
Totally! No limit and no pressure to finish them!
What if I don't finish it?
You just don't get the prize! But hopefully you got some cool art along the way!
How do I know what the prizes are?
Typically, artists will have photos on the cards of the prizes, or can show you photos! Sometimes they have the prizes with them too, just ask!
How do I know what artists are involved?
They should all be listed on the stamp card! You can always check them out on socials to see if you like their stuff before committing, but you never know what B-grade stuff they might have brought that's not posted online...
How do I know where the artists are?
Sometimes there's a map on the card! They should at least have their booth numbers! You can always come by the Info booth to get help finding them!
What is I don't like the prizes?
That's the beauty of Gob Mart- just trade them! the trading post, the meetup room, the craft room in happy mail- plenty of opportunities to put unwanted art to good use!
Receipt rally
What's the receipt rally?
On the back of every Gob Mart map is the receipt rally! Just fill it out with all your Gob purchases, just like a receipt! Once you hit the minimum needed, $80, you can return to the main Info Booth and claim a prize pack of this month's Gob goodies!!
How do I do one?
Pick up a map from any Info booth or Gob Mart roamer with one and get started! You need to fill out what you got (can be generic like "stickers") the cost, and then get a little signature from the vendor of approval! No cheating!!! You can share the receipt with your friends and speedrun that thang! You can double dip with a stamp rally or include your lunch! When you're all filled up to spending $80 at Gob, stop by main Info Booth and claim a prize pack of this month's Gob goodies!!
Does food count towards the prize?
Any food from Gob counts! Vendors attached to the venue wouldn't count but any food, drink, or art popped up with Gob counts, including the Gob merch booth!
Do stamp rallies count towards the prize?
Yes! Any art purchased from our vendors counts!
What's the prize?
A pack of all of this months new goodies! Typically a poster, a sticker, and 2 badge ribbons- the receipt rally ribbon AND the monthly ribbon! Sometimes there's extra stuff from our sponsors, like totes, or extra merch stuff like stickers and prints!
Can I just buy the pack instead?
No! Sorry, this is all about giving back to our artists! You want the whole kit and caboodle, the ribbons, sticker, poster- you gotta do the work and win the prize hehe!
