Accessibility

Can I bring my service animal?

Yes! You can even check accessibility for a quick map of nearby grass areas safe for dog potty time and bowls for water!

Is the area wheelchair accessible?

Yes! We've worked hard to ensure there are sizable walkways on either side of our very long artist alley! If you’re having a hard time making your way, please let us know! We take accessibility very seriously and anything we can't fix the day we want to work to improve for future events. You can even stop by accessibility to grab a blue wristband, which signals to volunteers and vendors that you might need some extra help- a written order board, someone to speak up, space to move forward, etc- and that might help with your experience at gob!

Will I be able to participate with a mobility aide?

Yes! All our workshop areas (craft room, meetup room, workshop room) have seating for folks! Our walkways should be ample for folks with strollers, walkers, canes, service dogs, wheelchairs, etc to pass by other guests without issue!

Are there sitting areas?

Yes! The food court has the most seating, but there is also seating near the west entrance! Throughout the mall are wooden benches in the center of the halls, and those have been kept open for folks to sit on!

Where are the accessible bathrooms?

In the back of the food court, opposite of the regal theater entrance, you'll find restrooms, including family and accessible restrooms!

What is the sensory space?

The sensory space is a small area in the craft room set aside for those that need a little time to themselves! Gob Mart can be pretty overstimulating, so this corner has enclosed walls to help with noise and lights, plush seating, stim toys, and free water to ensure you can take a breath before joining the fun again! This area is free to access but we encourage you to check in with the Accessibility & Info table located by the West entrance of the mall, down the hall from the craft room, before heading in!

Where can I go to avoid lights?

(updated 4/20) currently, there is a sensory space in the craft room, which is a small area for folks to rest when over-stimulated! Otherwise, the north and south entrances of the mall have the most natural lighting, as opposed to LED lights. The hall across from the northwest entrance which has murals and leads to the mall office, has little light, but does not have a seating area and it is echoey!

Where can I go to avoid smells?

The food court is likely the smelliest place, and the least so would be outside or the east side of the mall, where there's no cooking, only drink making! The craft room should also be free of smell as folks will be encouraged not to eat in there!

Where can I go to avoid noise?

(updated 4/20) currently, there is a sensory space in the craft room, which is a small area for folks to rest when over-stimulated! Otherwise, the mall is quite echoey, so we'd recommend bringing your own noise protection! The accessibility table, paired with each info desk, does offer ear plugs for free if you need some!

What is “accessibility” on the map?

Those stations are paired with info and will have tools and info to help you navigate gob! We have a map highlighting dietary accommodations, ear plugs, hand sanitizer, masks, water bottle refill stations and cups, blue wristbands, and more! These folks can maybe direct you in the right direction, or they can take note of an issue! Sometimes we can address issues day of, but other times we’ll take note and address it at the next market!

What are the blue wristbands?

These are free from accessibility and help signal to vendors and volunteers that you might need extra help! Maybe for them to speak up, or let you read their lips! Maybe for them to give you a menu or piece of paper to write your order on! Maybe you just need to get a little closer to the trading post tables and are having trouble moving forward! By waving this around, you can catch our attention and hopefully we can assist you so that you get the most out of your gobperience! (goblin experience)

What can I find at accessibility stations?

(updated 4/20) there are 3 in the mall! One at the west entrance, in front of the walkway to the dillards; one in the middle of the mall, across from the B daltons bookstore; and one on the east side of the mall, in front of the trading post area! Our sign posts should help you find them all well, and they'll be noted on the green maps we hand out too!

Where can I find free water?

Any “info & accessibility” station on the map has water bottle refills and small cups for water! There’s also water fountains in the back of the food court, central of the mall!
