Accessibility

What is “Info/Accessibility” on the map?

Those stations have tools and info to help you navigate Gob Mart! These folks can maybe direct you in the right direction, or they can take note of an issue. We try to address most issues immediately, but other times we’ll take note and work to adjust for future markets!

What can I find at Info/Accessibility stations?

A whole lot! We’re your one-stop shop for information about the mart. Gobs wearing the blue aprons are your easily identifiable Accessibility Gobs; we also have Accessibility Gobs roaming, so keep a lookout! Stop by for:

✅ Blue accessibility wristbands

✅ Basic First Aid

✅ Earplugs

✅ Service Dog review

✅ Snacks/candy for low blood glucose & more!

What are the blue wristbands?

These are free from Info/Accessibility and help signal to vendors and volunteers that you might need extra help! Maybe for them to speak up, or let you read their lips! Maybe for them to give you a menu or a piece of paper to write your order on! Maybe you just need to get a little closer to the trading post tables and are having trouble moving forward! By waving this around, you can catch our attention and hopefully we can assist you so that you get the most out of your gobperience! (goblin experience)

Am I required to disclose what my disability is to receive accommodations?

No! In fact, we don’t wanna know! While we may ask questions to best assist, your medical information is yours to share or not based on your preference.

  • What to share: I need easy access to a restroom :)
  • what not to share: I have IBS  :(

I have a hearing disability. What do I need to know?

Gob Mart is a loud environment that may be challenging for those with hearing disabilities. We suggest:

  • grab a blue wristband at the Info/Accessibility table if you’d like to indicate you may need someone to speak up or use a notepad to communicate
  • bring noise protection if your ears are sensitive (or ask for some of our free earplugs!)
  • if you require ASL interpretation, please reach out to us as ahead of time as possible so we can ensure we accommodate! Gob Mart hopes to have all performances and events interpreted in the future, so keep an eye out!

I have a vision disability. What do I need to know?

While Gob Mart can get crowded, walkways inside the mart are at least 10 feet in a convention-style “booth” layout. If you need help navigating these walkways, please flag an Accessibility Goblin, and we will be happy to help. Our vendors are also able to assist with feeling/bringing something closer to view an item better! Just ask or wave your blue wristband!

I have mobility concerns. what do I need to know?

We've worked hard to ensure there are sizable walkways on either side of our artist alley! If you’re having a hard time making your way, please let us know or look for an Accessibility Gob in the blue aprons for assistance. We take accessibility very seriously, and anything we can't fix same-day, we want to improve for future events. You can even stop by Info/Accessibility to grab a blue wristband, which signals to volunteers and vendors that you might need some extra help - a written order board, someone to speak up, space to move forward, etc - and that might help with your experience at Gob Mart!

  • our walkways should be ample for folks with strollers, walkers, canes, service dogs, wheelchairs, etc, to pass by other guests without issue. If you’re having a hard time making your way, please let us know!

I have sensory concerns. What do I need to know?

Gob Mart is a loud, bright, crowded convention-style mart that can be overwhelming for some. While the mart usually has a sensory-friendly area, we are still determining the best spot for it at our new location! Accommodations typically in the area (fidget toys, free water, hand fans, etc.) will still be available at the Info/Accessibility tables. Other tips include:

✅ Noise-canceling headphones are recommended, should you need them, but Info/Accessibility has free earplugs for everyone!while Gob Mart is usually scent-sensitive friendly, folks may come into the picnic areas to eat, which may carry smells.

✅ Please note all food vendors will be outside; should you need assistance purchasing food from one of the vendors, please find an Accessibility Gob!

✅ Have a plan! Should you or your party notice you are getting overstimulated, have a plan for how to best help yourself (going outside, going to the bathroom, or finding a less crowded corner). If you need assistance in exiting quickly, ANY Gob Mart staff member will be happy to assist you.

I have heat intolerance. What do I need to know?

Gob Mart is purposely inside during the hottest months of the year (approx May - Oct) but can still get warm due to the crowds, so here's our tips:

  • hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Ideally, start prepping two days before to ensure you’re watered up!
  • hand and neck fans are permitted and can be good to keep a breeze going. Hand fans are also available in limited quantities at the Info/Accessibility tables.
  • should you need assistance purchasing food from one of the vendors outside, please find an Accessibility Gob!

I have dietary restrictions. What do I need to know?

We have food vendors that cater to most diets! Visit and Info/Accessibility table to see what options we have for that mart. Should your allergy be severe, though, please don’t hesitate to double-check with our food vendors before purchasing, especially if cross-contamination is a concern. If your diet is extremely limited, we do recommend bringing snacks that will be easiest for you. There are also snacks at Info/Accessibility, should you need them!

I have blood sugar that needs to be monitored. What do I need to know?

Info/Accessibility has snacks if you feel your sugar dropping, as well as our many food vendors! If you’re addressing a low and need to find a place to rest, please find your nearest Gob Mart volunteer to help you get somewhere safe!

Are service animals allowed?

Yes! Upon your arrival at Goblin Market, you’ll be directed by our staff members to check in you and your service animal at the closest Info/Accessibility booth. After just a couple of ADA questions from our Accessibility Goblins, you’ll receive a blue wristband and are free to go and explore the mart! We will NOT be asking for any form of identification or certification from the handler/service animal. These questions, and our pet-free policy, are to ensure the safety of all service animals and their handlers who are attending the mart while we are indoors. Feel free to ask our Accessibility Goblins for recommended nearby grass areas safe for dog potty time and bowls for water! As a small reminder, the Americans with Disabilities Act only allows public access for task-trained service dogs/miniature horses at this time. Emotional Support Animals, or anything similar, do not fall under this and will be asked to leave the market immediately. Thanks for helping us keep working animals safe!

Are there sitting areas?

Yes! There will be a seating/picnic area at the far end of the hall near the trading tents. There is also accessible seating available in front of the stage/performance area. We will be evaluating during the June 2025 market how we can make seating more accessible for everyone!

Where are the accessible bathrooms?

There are two bathroom locations at the far ends of the main hall, next to the exits that face the food truck vendors. Restrooms have four (4) stalls, each with one (1) stall that is more accessible, but may still be challenging to navigate for those with mobility equipment. If you exit the main hall and cross to the building adjacent to the food trucks, you'll find plenty of restrooms, including accessible stalls! If you need easy access to the restroom, we recommend using this facility since it has more stalls available.

What is the sensory space?

Unfortunately, there will NOT be a sensory space this JUNE 14TH Market. As of now, Gob Mart has not found a location we believe would provide enough sound dampening to ensure the space is truly accessible. We do want to bring this accommodation in the future, so we are relying on feedback from our patrons, vendors, and volunteers, where it might be best to have it! We thank you for your patience with this matter!

  • The sensory space is a small area set aside for those who need a little time to themselves! Gob Mart can be pretty overstimulating, so this corner has enclosed walls to help with noise and lights, plush seating, stim toys, and free water to ensure you can take a breath before joining the fun again! This area is free to access, but we encourage you to check in with the Info/Accessibility table before heading in!

Where can I find free water?

Any Info/Accessibility station on the map has water bottle refills and small cups for water! There are also water fountains near the restrooms to refill your water bottle!

The bottom line…

We are here to help! If you have a question that is not answered in this FAQ, please do not hesitate to contact Gob Mart through social media, email, or the survey available on our website for more information on how we can improve. Or, please see us day-of at Goblin Market and we'll answer any questions that arise. Most of the people who run gob are neurodivergent or disabled themselves, and we care about your experience!
